Florence hosts the debut of “Novo”, the event dedicated to Chianti Classico Olio DOP.

The first edition of “Novo”, the annual event celebrating Chianti Classico Olio DOP and the launch of the new olive oil season, was held at the Teatro Niccolini in Florence. The occasion marked a double milestone: the 50th anniversary of the Consorzio Olio DOP Chianti Classico  and the 25th anniversary of the product’s recognition as a Protected Designation of Origin.

The evening also paid tribute to the founding members of the Consorzio, who played a key role in establishing and developing the designation.
Chef Andrea Perini of the restaurant Al 588 in Bagno a Ripoli was named the first Ambassador of Chianti Classico DOP. For the event, he curated a menu paired with Gallo Nero oils, showcasing their distinctive qualities through refined, high-level cuisine.

The Consorzio announced that each year the “Novo” dinner will be entrusted to a different chef, who will be awarded the title of Chianti Classico DOP Ambassador. The initiative aims to build a network of ambassadors able to convey the quality, identity, and values of the denomination.
